How long have you been a fan of WKU? Once I knew I wanted to study Journalism, Western Kentucky was my number one choice. I started school there in 2003!

What is your favorite tradition around your team? The waving of the red towel. Legendary basketball Coach E.A. Diddle would clutch a red towel during games and wave it around over his head when he was rallying and cheering for the team. Students still wave the red towel at games and events.

What is your favorite tailgate dish? I love a great variety of chips and dips – the cheesier the better!

Why should you be the #1 fan? If you’re looking for your own personal cheerleader, I’m your girl! From waving my own pom poms, to coaching high school cheerleaders, I just love to spread joy and excitement. While I may be alone in cheering for Big Red down here in Georgia, I am forever grateful for my years at WKU and how it shaped me into who I am today.

Why is it important to you to support Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home? I first learned about the services offered at the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd home when I first moved to Columbus in 2007. I was a news reporter and covered a story at the remodeled facility. I have always had a passion for helping others – especially young adults as I have been a high school teacher for more than 13 years. It is so important for young people to feel supported and loved, no matter what they are facing in life, and the programs offered through Twin Cedars does just that.

This is an all-school football kickoff party to benefit the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home in Columbus. This event features tailgate fare, beer and wine, tailgate jams by DJ Cash Flow, mascots, cheerleaders, drumlines, a silent auction, and more! At the event, our #1 fan will be announced. The #1 fan represents their school and is the top fundraiser for the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home. This high-energy event is located at the Cunningham Center on the campus of Columbus State University. Come and be a part of this fun event and show off your school colors!
